  1. The first five minutes:

    "Hello, I'm Jon"
    "and I'm Claire"
"and this is R:TW. We're playing as the Seleucids, which means we're fucked."

  2. Well, this is a blast from the past, I suppose I should make a pun, but I'm afraid I'll look like a Seleuc-idiot.

  3. You would love star wars empire at war so much! Even if you never watched star wars it's an amazing fun and complicated game worth a series.

  4. Thanks, Jon. You are a magnificent overlord! Also, I, for one, would like to see you play Empire. I know the comunity hates it and that it has some glaring issues, but I still think it's quite fun. I mean, it's Total War, for flips sake. Cheers, m8!

  11. These highlights are the only way I can watch streams these days.

Not because I can't make it to them, but because spending half the stream thanking donators isn't what I call fun.

  19. This is more enjoyable than the unedited livestream. The livestream was like watching a tv show that was 75% commercials.

  20. I'm hoping he eventually plays Shogun or Shogun 2. I think Europe has suffered enough bloodshed caused by a Brit with -900 perception.

  27. How do you even deal with that Parthia attack? They always take Seleucia because they siege me out. I can't attack them because horse archers are impossible to beat at this early in the game. They were so rude.

  30. You say the Hanging Gardens of Babylon doesn't exist because "there's no historical evidence it existed". There's no historical evidence that it didn't exist, either.

Also, there's no historical evidence that Jesus Christ existed (and he didn't)

  32. Syrian elephants were a real thing and they became extinct around 100 BCE. Coincidence? Likely.

  33. I wish you'd just do a history series. Like, I like watching rts gameplay, but the reason I watch this channel specifically is for the history lessons

  34. I'm so glad this is up. I wanted to watch the stream but I consumed too much barbecue, single malt and Kronenburg then passed out on some old woman's bed.
A tad like how Alexander missed out.

  35. Jon you say that the hanging gardens of Babylon didn't exist, however a more recent and likely theory is that that gardens were incorrectly attributed to Babylon and that they were more likely Assyrian. Located at Nineveh "The Mystery of the Hanging gardens of Babylon an elusive world wonder traced" by Stephanie Dalley goes over the evidence.

  37. The Seluicids were so much more fleshed out and funner to play as in Rome 2. Probably the funnest faction in the entire game, IMO.
